Palasari will give you the feeling of tranquility and peacefulness. This place is a catholic outpost in the sea of Hindu, located in Jembrana regency and surrounded by the forest and coconut plantations.

The first Catholic Church established in this village in 1940. Now, Palasari is the largest Catholic community in Bali with 1,400 congregants houses on the sides of the main road. This number could have been greater, but some of the community left to Lampung and Umaha in the time of government’s transmigration policy.

The hallmark of this Catholic village is the Sacred Heart (Hati Kudus) Catholic Church. This church was designed by Father Ignatius A.M. de Vriese, and two of his Balinese architects, Ida Bagus Tugur and I Gusti Nyoman Rai. The architecture is a mixture of Gothic and Balinese traditional architecture, that tell us about the harmonious relation of Hindu and Catholic in Bali.
